Overview
Al Moudira offers a unique place to stay in exceptional surroundings. A 15-minute taxi ride will take you across the Nile bridge leaving behind the city hubbub of Luxor dropping you off in the peaceful Egyptian countryside - a setting that hasn't changed much since David Roberts' days. The more romantic or adventurous traveller might prefer to take the small colourful boats, or the ferry that crosses the Nile day and night, and then a taxi to reach the hotel.
The ochre-coloured outer walls of the Al Moudira hotel encircles a luxuriant eight-hectare garden with a swimming pool, an oasis in the desert. The hotel lies on the borderland where the cultivated fields end and the desert begins. Sugar cane growers across the way tend their fields with donkeys and camels just as their ancestors have done for thousands of years. The whole place exudes a wonderful feeling of peace and tranquillity.
